AWeber Review 2020| An in-depth look into its Pros and Cons.|

AWeber Review; features, pricing, the pros and cons.

Aweber Review

When it comes to the email marketing industry, AWeber is a big player herein. It has been one of the oldest tools since its establishment in 1998 by the entrepreneur Tom Kulzer.

The main function of AWeber is to help turn the massive passive traffic that keeps visiting businesses’ and bloggers’ websites into clients and leads in the long run.

I have come across some extremely negative reviews on this product, but let’s be honest and frank; it wouldn’t appear on the top trending email marketing tools globally had been as awful as reviewed by a couple of people out there.

In this AWeber Review, we will take an in-depth look into the designing, campaigns and e-newsletter solutions, then dive into the pros and cons of AWeber as we discuss its pricing, features and more.

Plus, one of the outstanding features is its credible award-winning customer support ranging from live chat to phone calls, the area it has an edge over its competitors like GetResponse.

Our Review Score: 8/10

AWeber Pricing

Aweber Pricing

There are five pricing plans for one to choose from.

Unlike competitors like GetResponse, AWeber plans’ key difference is based on the size of an email list.

The plans don’t have names but are structured as below.

  1. Up to 500 subscribers: $19 per month
  2. 501 to 2,500 subscribers: $29 per month
  3. 2,501 to 5,000 subscribers: $49 per month
  4. 5,001 to 10,000 subscribers: $69 per month
  5. 10,001 to 25,000 subscribers: $149 per month

As you might have noticed, there aren’t any differences amongst the plans in terms of features with AWeber.

All the plans have exactly the same functionalities, the only difference comes in with the mailing list size/ number of your contacts

#Note:

If you have a list with over 25,000 subscribers, you’ll have to contact AWeber to get a quote to establish your monthly charges/price

AWeber gives discounts to NGOs (Non-Profit Organizations)- Free subscription for three months and 25% discount on the price follows.

Students are given 20% off the price.

There are 14% and 15% discounts upon quarterly and annual payments respectively

The only unfortunate thing with AWeber’s free trial is that they’ve started requiring credit card.

So, anyone not please with their service will have to manually cancel it later.

From competitors’ point of view, AWeber is quite cheaper than Mailchimp, iContact and marginally more costly than GetResponse and Mad Mimi.

Email templates

AWeber avails over 700 HTML templates to choose from, all of them are customizable. It’s an area that beats all its competitors that provide marginally less templates except GetResponse that comes close with about 500 customization ones

email templates
Email templates( AWeber has over 700 of them)

Despite the numerous templates, not all of their designs are so appealing, in fact I prefer the ones of GetResponse.

Whether you’re good at coding or terrible just like me, you are covered.

For coding dummies like me, all you have to do is click on the drag and drop WYSIWYG editor and it will provide the you with a choice of the 700 templates, all of which utilize responsive deigns for viewing via mobile, tablets.

For the coding giants, you can take your templates design to next level through HTML technical abilities.

Autoresponders

Autoresponders

Stop working in your business and start working on your business!

An autoresponder is a set of programs that automatically generates a set response to all messages sent to a particular email lists/ address.

Or can be basically defined as a series of follow emails that automatically stimulated by either by time or actions of the email user.

AWeber’s automation will save you a lot of time to invest on other important areas of your business.

In addition to that, with automated emails, you will turn your casual subscribers into paying customers

But first, you have to take the responsibility of building an awesome relationship with your audience.

This is achieved through establishment of trust and credibility through deliverance of value thus creating a tribe of raving and outstanding fans.

The AWeber autoresponder functionality isn’t as outstanding as the GetResponse’s. So, if you’re looking for exclusively the best quality, I suggest you rather go with GetResponse.

Marketing Automation

Marketing automation
Marketing automation

Marketing automation is a feature that almost all the ESPs offer in their plans.

It’s an advanced form of autoresponders, where automated emails are sent based on customer’s behaviour e.g. email opens, link clicks, purchases, etc.

Set up a sequence of emails to be sent automatically on a schedule of your choice.

Keep your readers engaged by sending custom drip campaigns, like thank you and welcome series, product launch series or educational courses.

Send triggered email campaigns and tag subscribers based on their actions.

Sending more relevant triggered emails empowers you to engage your audience, and transform passive prospects into loyal customers and advocates.

Basic and simple drag and drop campaign builder is all you’ll need, isn’t that simplified?

Furthermore, AWeber Campaigns, an additional feature recently introduced to marketing automation functionality, by AWeber.

With this feature, you use user behaviour such particularly as opens and clickthroughs, together with the application of tags to determine what should be sent to which contact and when.

However, if you are to look at the marketing automations of other tools like GetResponse and Mailchimp, AWeber’s can be described as extensively below their standards.

Split Testing

Split Testing

This refers to a user experience research methodology that enables one to know the best performing versions of emails on segments of your data.

A/B Testing or split testing enables you to your subscribers effectively hence sending the best version of the emails and make cash in the backend.

AWeber offers up-to three variations of emails for split testing, which considerably below the five variations availed with GetResponse, and more than the two of Mailchimp.

One cool thing about their A/B testing is that the tracking and results are availed you on the home page.

The subject lines, previews of text, message content, and sending periods are the most important areas to carry out your tests around.

Sign up Forms

Sign up forms

If there’s anything many people love about AWeber, it’s their beautiful and flexible opt-in form feature.

There are hundreds of ready to use templates that you can use to create professional sign-up forms.

With the AWeber sign up form generator, you can create simple and powerful opt-in forms, further customize them to fit your brand.

The other interesting fact is that you won’t even require a website in order to collect the emails because AWeber will host your sign-up form for you and even give you a link to share with your networks.

Build your email list even before owing a site.

Furthermore, AWeber gives the options of either subscribing your users to a single opt-in forms or the double opt-in forms. The difference is that with single opt-in form, your contact/user is subscribed immediately, on the other hand, double opt-in form involves the user clicking a link in the confirmation email to be subscribed.

To beef it up, the forms are even mobile friendly, this leads to an easy and quick growth of the email list.

Helps one drive traffic one’s website; through creation and tracking of emails designed the website traffic.

Make more sales by tracking emails revenue and sending emails that make one money.

And finally, in regards to this ground, I personally prefer the extensive email analytics and reporting feature of GetResponse the AWeber’s despite its decency in functionality.

Integrations with third party

You can integrate your AWeber account with hundreds of third-party applications and cloud-based sites ranging from web builders like WordPress, CRM like Contact Us to landing pages and lead generation software like ClickFunnels. And so many more.

The phone support is one of the areas GetResponse, AWeber’s main competitor is trailing behind.

My Verdict

Are you a start up or an established business? AWeber is a right and decent choice for you. This tool has been in the game for over 20 years, that is quite long pal, so, it is proven resource for your business.

One of the major reasons I opt for the alternatives is their pricing which is marginally more than some of the top tools in the industry especially GetResponse.

Nevertheless, I highly recommend it if you’re a beginner and don’t really need advanced tools as yet. Yes sure!
